 The Task: Case Study Writing  “ Individual Submission

Read Pixar Case Study (as discussed in the class in week 5) and write a similar type of case study on any company of your choice with emphasis on how the leadership and organisational culture drive creativity and innovation of the company. (Advised word limit: 2000 words)

This is an exceptional opportunity for you to look for some publication or at least showcase your creativity to any prospective employer during any job interview you face. The case study can be read printed using the following link:

Assessment Criteria (Details in rubric):
1. Tell your short and sweet story (abstract) in maximum 200 words  “ less is more but clarity is the key (10%).
2. The catchy title (e.g. innovation sparks movie magic in case of Pixar case study) and brief introduction of the company and its business (10%).
3. A critical analysis of how the mission, vision, values and slogan (if any) of the company contribute towards promoting a culture that leverages innovation (10%).
4. Explain the culture of the company in a compelling way and find its link to innovation (10%).
5. Explain innovation product development process of the company (10%).
6. Explain company s innovation strategy rules of innovation (10%).
7. Explain company s risk taking and to what extent it facilitates to innovation (10%).
8. Recommendation (shows analytical, cognitive, creative and research skills (10%)
9. Evidence of secondary research supported by citation within the paper and end of paper reference (10%).
10. Engagement in the class (10%)


Note: You may like to conduct one or two telephone interview to better understand the organisation culture and innovation process. You may choose any company but if you choose wellestablished company then it is likely that you will get enough resources as secondary data, helping you to write a compelling case study.
