I’m a Pediatric/Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit Nurse and here is the following paper I must fulfill: Work Sheet EACH STUDENT/GROUP MEMBER – please answer ALL of the following questions by analyzing your respective healthcare organization, which includes your current work setting, using your “complexity lens.” Provide rationales, based on concepts and material in the required texts and other references as appropriate. Cite and list references used in APA format. You may use charts to describe and illustrate any comparisons/contrasts and/or summarize as appropriate. Group collaboration must be evident, perhaps as a summary discussion at the end of each question of your findings or information presented in a chart. Individually complete the “Complexity Leadership Assessment/ Profile” in the text Complexity Leadership (pp. 216-223). a) Submit a summary of your strengths and areas to improve based on your profile. b) Describe your plan to enhance personal being and self-awareness, employing self-reflective and self-care practices, as discussed in Complexity Leadership, Unit 3 (pp. 157-207). 3. Individually describe how the concept of “clinical microsystem thinking” is applied and implemented within your organization. Clinical microsystems are discussed in Advanced Practice Nursing: Emphasizing Common Roles , pp. 402-403; also Complexity Leadership, pp. 59-63. ***If this concept is NOT currently being utilized within your organization: a) identify the status of any plans to do so b) project how the clinical microsystem approach can be used, comparing it to current/past improvement processes you have experienced 4. Analyze the use of Master’s-prepared nurses functioning within your organization based on the following: a) Describe the Master’s-prepared nurses employed within your overall organization, not just your work setting/unit. – those functioning in Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) roles – NP, CNS, CNM, or CRNA – those functioning as educators, administrators, managers, IT, etc. – specify if they are APNs functioning in those non-APN roles b) To whom do they report? Analyze how that reporting level/relationship affects their role, practice, and collaboration with nursing and interprofessional providers. c) How can/do the Advanced Practice Nurses and other Master’s-prepared nurses impact the clinical microsystem in your work setting/unit to promote quality outcomes? – Be sure to specifically include discussion of the role for which you are preparing. ***If there are no Advanced Practice Nurses currently in your organization: a) identify the status of any plans to hire APNs b) project how APNs could be used within your organization/work setting Utilize the materials available in Complexity Leadership (pp. 209-210) and Advanced Practice Nursing: Emphasizing Common Roles (pp. 403-413) to facilitate your analysis and discussion.
