3 Seperate Essays on the same document: 1st Page Essay – How did the adoption of gunpowder change the Ottoman and Safavid empires? Which changes were positive, which negative and why? 2nd Page Essay: Discuss one example of western imperialism into the region at length. Include the reasons for this imperialism and the consequences for the colonial people. 3rd Page Essay: “World War I was the single most important political events in the history of the modern Middle East” (Gelvin, 191). The midterm is based on the beginning of the Gelvin textbook through Chapter 12 and the first five chapters in Khater”s Sources. Your essays must be thesis driven.
