Middle Eastern Women

The status of Arab and Muslim women is often misrepresented in the Western countries (Europe and North America). There is no doubt that women in the Middle East suffered and continue to suffer from injustices, but that does not mean that change has not always been part of their lives as well. It is important to recognize that just because many Middle Eastern women are invisible in many ways that does not make them inactive or passive. Many women are far from being inactive, indeed. Throughout history, there have been many, many women who were very active in seeking equality and justice for all. In this discussion, we need to revisit some of such misconceptions, while discuss the issues that are still undermining full equality and justice. Based on research and experience, please write 750-1000 words about the status of women in the Middle East, and comment on some of the major issues they face on daily basis.
