Reflective Practice and Lifelong Learning

This assignment has two parts and is based on your subject and module readings including relevant additional readings. Part 1 Think about the work that you have done in the problem based learning scenario in Module 2. Identify the learning approaches that are likely to be most effective in your context. Review the options that you identified at the beginning of Module 2 where you were given options 1-4. In your response include at least some work-based learning and discuss why you have chosen this particular work-based learning approach. Specifically: What learning and assessment strategies could be used? What environments might the learning take place in, and how would you facilitate learning in that environment? E.g. the work place; online; one on one consultancy or mentoring; in teams; face to face workshops. What is it that the students will do? Include discussion of the work-based learning theories that have informed your decisions Part 2 Consider the reflective practice approaches that you have engaged in throughout this subject. What approaches work for you? What approaches do not work or are less effective for you? What strategies could you put in place to ensure ongoing reflective practice in relation to your work? If you do not presently work as a teacher or trainer, then for the purposes of this assignment imagine the teaching and learning context that you would like to be teaching in. Rationale This assignment asks you to reflect on your VET and industry context to develop a ‘blue skies’ approach to your teaching and learning and assessment practice. Often we are so entrenched by what has been done before in our own particular context that we fail to see approaches that might better meet learners personal and occupational learning needs. The assignment asks you to reflect on your reflective practice and to identity what works for you, what does not work for you, and how you can embed useful reflection into your ongoing teaching and learning practice. You began to think about this for the first assignment, and I would expect that you have taken your thinking further by this assignment. Also, please provide an overview of your context or the context that you are using as the basis for this assignment within the first page or two of the assignment.
