Make use of at least one other assigned reading in your answer. ***Note that the Nagel reading is under week 10 in the course content and course outline, but has been moved to week 4*** To answer this question, you must first explain Nagel’s account of sexual desire (250 words). This will require explaining his “Romeo and Juliet” example and its importance. Then you should explain how Nagel determines if something is a sexual perversion. Give examples of sexual activities that are and are not perversions according to the theory and explain why in each case (250 words). Finally, ask yourself: Is this a successful account of sexual perversion? Then formulate your criticisms and consider how someone might respond to them (up to 250 words). Does the account include all the cases of perversion? Does it include any cases that should be excluded? Continue to develop your thoughts on sexual perversion (up to 250 words). For example, how does perversion relate morality? How does sexual perversion relate to the problem of defining “sexual desire”? Don’t forget to incorporate your consideration of Nagel’s reasons and their acceptability as discussed in your reading analysis.
