Remember that budget you created at the beginning of the semester? Now we are going to put that budget to use. I want you to research the average salary for the profession you would like to have in the future. Be sure to check several sources. Now plug your salary into your budget and see what happens. The next thing I would like you to do is to write a page or two about your findings. Based on your original budget, and your future salary will you have money left over at the end of the month? If so, can you put money away for retirement and in a savings account? How much? What kind of life style will you live? If there is no money left over at the end of the month what can you do to increase that amount? Be realistic about what you can do. What kind of lifestyle will you need to live in order to make ends meet. Please don’t include the salary of a future spouse in your budget. I want to see only your salary and your ability to support a family on one income. Be sure to cite your sources.
